A new challenge: Cannibale Royale Brewing Competition
A new challenge: Cannibale Royale Brewing Competition
The best way to reach out people, meet other hobby colleagues, and get known in the brewing world is, for sure, joining a brewing context.
Since I started with this beautiful hobby, the main driver was to improve, step-by-step, my brewing skills. Trying new techniques, different ingredients and styles and get feedbacks from friends and family was not enough.
To really improve, it’s important to meet someone else that shares your passions, being open to new opinion and seek for feedbacks that can help you improve. And what best then joining a brewing context?
While I was in Italy and after a while I brewed my first batch, I started to join brewing context. Never won any of them, but got a lot of inspiration, good tips, and met many people that helped me grow and improve my skills.
Since I moved to The Netherlands, and I resumed my brewing activities, I started to join again brewing context, most of the time in Germany, but now that I am getting to know more and more about the Dutch brewing world, I got the chance to join the Cannibale Royale Brewing Competition as my first Dutch context.
The Cannibale Royale Brewing Competition 2021
Cannibale Royale is one of the most famous steak house of The Netherlands. Beside serving good food, it has a good beer selection as well.
This time, they are giving the opportunity to home brewers to show their skills and advertise their beers during a cool nice event.
The competition is organized in 2 phases:
- 25th of June, the first round. The brewers have to bring min 6 bottles of their creation to Cannibale Royale at NDSM North Amsterdam location, where a jury will evaluate them. Will not be tasted only the beer, but the story behind the brewers and breweries.
- 29th of August, the final. The breweries that qualifies to the last round have to bring at least 24 bottles of their labeled beer. The final is a kind of social media competition. All the brewers will compete against each other helped by their supporters (max 10 people) to win the public prize.
At the final, will be announced the winner of the main prize as well. What is it about? In collaboration with Two Chefs Brewing, 2500 liters of the winning beer will be produced and sold to all the Cannibale Royale restaurants.
Yes guys, that is what makes this competition so appealing. The winner can actually start a nice brewing career.
NeaBrew is joining the competition with the NeIPA recipe with some small changes. I will publish the recipe after the results of the context.
